A Day in the Life at Absolute Angels
8am or 9am:
Arrival at Nursery
With support from parents, children are encouraged to hang their coats and bags on their own peg and enter the classroom to begin the day.
9am – 12pm:
The Work Cycle
The children have free access to the extensive range of tactile Montessori equipment.
They will work on self-selected tasks that engage their natural curiosity. These include:
- Maths
- Language
- Culture
- Life skills
- The world around you
- Creative art
During the work cycle each child has the freedom to move around both inside and outside. We have a fully functioning, extensively equipped outdoor classroom, as well as a safe and secure playground.
In order to foster independence, everyone is able to access a healthy snack from the snack table by themselves at any time.
12pm:
Story time
Our wonderful team of local story tellers read from our extensive selection of books.
12.30pm:
Home time
Children who attend the afternoon sessions arrive.
Lunch
The children bring packed lunches and sit together with the teachers to enjoy a communal lunch.
1pm – 2.45pm
Afternoon activities
We offer the freedom for children to choose their tasks for the afternoon. All children are encouraged to spend time outdoors. In addition we offer a number of extended opportunities including:
- Kitchen skills
- Sensory exploration
- Dance
- Music
- Exploratory art
2.45pm
Home time
Children are collected from nursery.
2.45pm to 6pm
Wraparound care available until 6pm including light tea.
